STEP development advice postponed, new target date 1 April

The STAP development advice is expected to be opened from 1 April 2022, instead of the previously mentioned date of 1 March 2022. The reason for this is that the scheme now includes additional measures to prevent possible improper use. This is in response to media coverage of the NL Leert Door crisis scheme. The additional measures have an impact on the registration and application process. That is why a careful review of the feasibility is needed.
This decision about the STAP development advice is separate from the STAP budget. Employers and jobseekers can apply for a STAP budget of a maximum of €1,000 per year for training and development from 1 March 2022. You can read more about this here.
New planning
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment is aiming to open the STAP development advice scheme on 1 April 2022, so that career advisers can register participants from that date. It is expected that the subsidy can be applied for as of 1 May. More information about the conditions of the scheme and the application process will follow in the course of March.
Target group
The STAP development advice will be aimed at groups of people who have little opportunity for further training or who benefit most from training and has as a specific target group practical skilled workers with a completed education of up to MBO-2.
